Atomically precise lateral heterostructures published in Advanced Materials

The study on the synthesis of lateral superlattice heterostructures, carried out by Maria Tenorio and Cesar Moreno has been recently published in Advanced Materials. The paper reports the bottom-up synthesis of an atomically precise nitrogen-doped nanoporous graphene that electronically behaves as a 2D lateral superlattice heterostructure with unprecedented band discontinuities down to the single-bond limit, and heterocomponent dimensions down to the one nanometer scale.
